B.A. (Hons) 1979 M.A. 2005 Sunderland
Founder member Bearpark Artists Co-op
I studied Fine Art at Sunderland University in 1978 and went back to take a two-year part-time MA in 2004/5
I work in and from the landscape near my home in County Durham . I am particularly drawn to the twists of tree branches and plants such as the umbelliferae family. Recent work explores the shape of spaces between branches and stems.
I have produced large murals for the Oriental Museum , Durham University and for Highfield Hospital Chester-le-Street. A more recent ‘reminiscence' mural is at the Bowes Lyon Unit, Earls House Hospital , Durham . Small works are in public settings such as the Radiology Department, University Hospital , Durham ; and Wetherspoons, Durham .
